My WBCOOP 2012 Day 5: Pot Limit Omaha

On Monday i didn't play an event because i had to study for my math exam. So my next tournament was Event #18: Pot Limit Omaha Turbo.

I used the tip 4) of last blog post and folded my way in the money. Then I open pushed KT37 (double suited - I know this is a bad hand) and got called by the big blind holding AK86 double suited. I didn't improve and he won ... 105th out of 186 players and a $5.50 SCOOP-Ticket.

The champions of latest events are:

WBCOOP Day 4: NLH/PLO and Leaderboard tips

On day 4 of the WBCOOP 2012 I played the Event #11: NL Holdem / Pot Limit Omaha.
I'm really happy with my play but busted in a standard hand with 20BB QQ < AK and place 157th out of 378 players.

The champions of yesterday's events are:

Event #10 7-Card Stud 8-max tweeter45 (Canada)
Event #11 NL Holdem / Pot Limit Omaha 9-max luis_faria (Portugal)
Event #12 Stud Hi/Lo [Turbo] 8-max Vitalijus3 (Lithuania)

My WBCOOP 2012 Results so far:

Event #3 Limit Badugi 8-max 31st of 225 players $16.50 Ticket
Event #6 8-Game 6-max 175th of 237 players -
Event #9 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 6-max 148th of 250 players -
Event #11 NL Holdem / Pot Limit Omaha 9-max 157th of 378 players -

Leaderboard tips:

The 1st of the WBCOOP 2012 Leaderboard get's a live package worth $7000. So what's important if you want to win that prize:

1) Don't play the No Limit Hold'em events exclusively
The NLHE Events have the most participants but you don't get more points for a win. So it's better to play the "exotic" events like Badugi, Stud, ... because there are less players than in the Hold'em events. And if you play ABC-poker in this events (read a strategy article before the tournament) you are one of the better players in the exotic events.

2) Win an event
That's the most important point, but even the most difficult. If you want to win the leaderboard you have to win an event.

3) Play tournaments with smaller fields
At this WBCOOP it looks like that the tournaments at 18p.m. ET have the smallest fields so play this tournaments (combine this with 1)

4) Cash in a lot of events
Like 3) Small fields are important. Use the late reg (reg 1 min before late-reg ends). Because a third or even half of players are already busted and if you start with the full starting stack you're only a little below average.
You can even fold your way in the money if you use your timebank.

My WBCOOP 2012 Day 3: PLO Hi/Lo

Best PLO Hi/Lo Starting Hand

Another WBCOOP day, another disappointing result for me.
I've only played Event #9: Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo [6-max]. I finished 148th out of 250 players. I don't remember my bust-out hand, because HEM didn't import it.

My WBCOOP 2012 Day 2: 8-Game

Yesterday I played the Event #6 8-Game.
I'm not an mixed game specialist ... i would even say I've a lot leaks especially in all Stud Games (Razz, Stud, Stud 8 - Hi/Lo).
I most like the 2-7, Omaha 8 (Hi/Lo) and the PLO.

I didn't play very well (especially in the Stud games :-) ) and busted in PLO wth. AA96 (single suited) ws. AQT5 (double suited) on a 942 flop (he had the Nut Flush draw) ... a very disappointing result: 175th out of 237 players.

The champions of yesterday's events are:

Event #4 NL Holdem / Pot Limit Omaha [Turbo] 9-max ImDaGuacha (Argentinia)
Event #5 No Limit Hold'em [Shootout] 9-max AggroSpaDe (Hungary)
Event #6 8-Game 6-max Blade565 (Spain)

Event #3 Limit Badugi 8-max 31st $16.50 Ticket

Leaderboard error?

Day 1 of the WBCOOP 2012 is over. I only played Event #3 - Limit Badugi and finished 31st out of 225 players. Which is a good start: I earnd a $16.50 Ticket and I should have made 20 points for the leaderboard according to the description on http://www.pokerstars.com/blog_tournament/leader-board/. But when I look at the Leaderboard on the co.uk-Site I've 25 points.

So there is an error somewhere ... a did a little research and found out: There are different descriptions for the leader board points and the given points. I'll compare them.

.com means leaderboard description on http://www.pokerstars.com/blog_tournament/leader-board/
.co.uk means leaderboard description on http://www.pokerstars.co.uk/tournaments/wbcoop/leader-board/
.de means leaderboard description on http://www.pokerstars.com/de/blog_tournament/leader-board/, which is the same as .ru, .nl, .es, .pt (even if .nl, .es, .pt have a different design).

Different TLBs are from 19-108 between the co.uk-Site and the other three, but the given points are OK according to .com description.

I'm ignoring the difference between co.uk and .com (or .de - .de and .com are the same). But there is a huge difference between the points given and the .com TLB.

The are different points given from 13th-18th, 37th-44th and 73th-76th, which are 18 spots with wrong points.

#3 - Limit Badugi (8-handed)

Place TLB .com TLB .co.uk TLB .de points given

Again I'm ignoring the difference between co.uk and .com (or .de - .de and .com are the same). But there is a huge difference between the points given and the .com TLB.

The are different points given from 9th-72th, which are 64 spots with wrong points.

WBCOOP 2012 starts soon

After I finished third in last year’s WBCOOP Main Event I was happy because I ran really well (AK > KK at the last two tables), but I wasn't really happy with my play in the last hand.
Info: It was four in the morning and I was very tired, 3rd and 2nd place got the same prize money.
I (BB) called a shove for all my chips from the SB with 17BB with pocket deuces ... what is really bad.

This year I want to make it better: Play better and hopefully finish higher (or win the 5000$ for best blogger or the 1000$ for best live tweeter).

For all the german speaking readers: Here is my video summary of last years WBCOOP Main Event:

For my 3rd place I got 2010$ in tournament tickets (SCOOP and Sunday Million). In the tournaments i played (with the tickets) I had a few money finishes but not a really deep run. I total cashed for 1350$ - which isn’t bad for a freeroll but it isn’t great.

What would I do with the 5000$ prize for the best blogger?

I think I would cash out about half of the money to by some small things for me and my family and go Bungee jumping on the "Europabrücke" - with 190m the highest beam bridge in Europe.
Maybe I will go to Las Vegas in summer and it's always good to have some spending money (especially if it is "sponsored" by PokerStars ;-)

1500$ I would spend on satellites for big major tournaments (EPT, PCA or WSOP). Most of the "live tourney budget" i would invest into step satellites, because i like the idea of playing a major tourney only with a few bucks spent.
To play with all the top pros you usually see on TV must me amazing: Bluffing Phil Hellmuth out of a pot, table talking with Daniel Negreanu or having a drink with Liv Boeree.
Maybe I will be successor of Pius Heinz and all the other PokerStars pro who won the "The Big One" - another german speaking would be great for Poker in Europe (especially Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
I "only" have to run like Jamie Gold and Chris Moneymaker together, then I will not be a problem

With the last 1000$ I want to play the new Zoom Poker on PokerStars (which is hopefully available when WBCOOP is finished). I really liked the fast moving ring games and I played a lot of that before black Friday.
With Zoom Poker PokerStars makes a huge step in the right direction, because "normal" players like to play many hands, and when they could fold the really bad ones it is more fun for them and better for the regulars, because the "normal" players are playing more hands in the same time as on normal tables.

I want to apologize for my bad English, but I think it's better to blog in English during the WBCOOP because more people can read it

club7poker Tour in Innsbruck - Resümee

Mir bleiben 30k, was gerade mal 4 BB sind.
